Juvenile Detention Center

Mission Statement

The Tohono O’odham Judicial Branch Juvenile Detention Center is dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment through positive role modeling and redirection.

Each youth is given the opportunity to restore and to make healthy changes in their lives for the betterment of our community’s future.

The Juvenile Detention Center will continue to work actively with the communities, public agencies, and private entities to provide a wide range of services, which support the juveniles’ physical, emotional, and social development, promote justice, education, and the prevention of delinquency and abuse.

As Juvenile Correction Officers we believe we have a major effect on our youth, provided that we continue to up hold our standard of structure and discipline.

We are committed to treating all of our children fairly. Everyone’s safety is treated as equally important.

Our Detention Team members are professional, dedicated and caring. They always put the children’s best interests first. Detention Officers are trained in effective communication methods, affects of trauma, substance abuse, and how to help children who are in crises. Our Detention officers serve as “mentors” to our children and will help them throughout their stay by being open to discussions about their needs, personal goals etc.

Our goal is to help your child learn skills that lead them to better decision making. Our children are also provided medical and mental health assessments and services while they are here.

We believe that with structure, equality programs, education and supportive role models all children are capable of greatness.

The Children are our future.
